The Paguro was a methane extraction platform.
During drilling operations, an explosion caused it to sink.
The structure settled on the seabed,
about twelve miles from the Ravenna coast.
Over the years the metal has changed.
Sponges, corals, crustaceans and fish
have settled on every surface.
What was once an industrial accident
has become an ecosystem.
The sea of Ravenna has always been
a place of work and memory.
Platforms, fishing, navigation.
Over time the Paguro has remained
as a quiet presence.
A fragment of industrial history
transformed by the sea.
Tenuta Del Paguro also begins here.
From respect for this place
and its transformation.
The project was born from the vocation of the Romagna hills,
the allure of the sea,
and the desire to explore new winemaking dimensions.
It was from the story of the Paguro wreck,
told by Tonino Guerra,
that the inspiration for Tenuta del Paguro was born in 2008:
entrusting the time and evolution of wine to the sea.
